However, the situation changes when the player approaches the table.

• What strategy should be followed after the opponent's move?

Inmates who adhered to certain behavioral rules within the institution, did not engage in fights, and exhibited positive behaviors were granted the right to play pool.

Thus, pool transformed from merely an activity for leisure into a part of a system that encourages positive behaviors.

The important point here is not to claim that pool alone changes behaviors.

What is truly remarkable is the incentive system created by associating the opportunity to play pool with positive behaviors.

When Pool Becomes a Reward

In this project, the meaning of the pool table changed for us right here.

When we think of a pool table, we usually think of games, entertainment, and competition.

However, in the project in Erzurum, the table had a different social function.

Individuals exhibiting certain behaviors were offered the opportunity to play pool.

In other words:

Positive behavior → right to play pool

was established as an incentive mechanism.

Granting the right to play pool after behaviors such as not fighting, adhering to rules, and exhibiting more positive behaviors transformed the game into a tool for motivation and reward.

Positive Outcomes of the Project

According to observations reported from the project, significant developments in positive behaviors were noted after the implementation.

Associating the right to play pool with certain behaviors created a motivational element for the inmates.

This experience became an important example showing that pool can be used not only for entertainment purposes in different social environments but also as part of a structured social activity and behavior encouragement system.

For Koraltürk Bilardo, this project demonstrated that a pool table we produced could gain meaning beyond its physical function.

Koraltürk Bilardo Was Awarded for This Project

After this work conducted at Erzurum Central Open Penitentiary Institution, we were awarded as Koraltürk Bilardo.

This award was not just a production success for us.

Because what determined the value of the project was not only how the table was produced.

The contribution of the produced pool table to bringing people together, facilitating a structured activity, and being used within a system that encourages positive behaviors gave the project a different significance.

For this reason, the Erzurum project remains significant today as one of the special works in the history of Koraltürk Bilardo.
